Rachel already posted the California decision to officially legalize same-sex marriage. Be sure to read it if you haven’t already. I thought I made the post when I heard the news from my phone. I see I was mistaken. LOL. Technology. 😛
On to the point. I’m so pleased that the ban on same sex marriage has been overturned. I don’t feel anyone should have say in who someone marries. It’s usually those that force religion who feel it’s their “RIGHT” to have a say in what people do in their private lives. How they raise their children and who they marry.
Oftentimes, when sucked into the conversation of same-sex marriage, someone always wants to say, “Well the Bible says….” Well, I hate to break it to you, but the Bible is written by men. Oftentimes based on he said, she said. Men by nature are flawed. They lie and sin. Which also means, they exaggerate.
The Bible also says that men should lay with many wives, and that ear piercing and tattooing are signs of witchcraft (Leviticus 19:28 if you’re wondering). And last I checked, witchcraft is far worse. I mean, It’s blasphemy. So… yea, times change. If you serve a God who would condemn people to a life of hell because of who they love, well, I feel sorry for you. You have a lot to live up to.
Excellent… could not agree more!
Do you think that real equality will ever be attained in our lifetime?
That’s an interesting question. I don’t know. I could be optimistic and say yes… but, ya know….
I just read that Mexico has decreed that same-sex marriages which take place in the capitol must be recognized in every state of the country (though it is up to the other states whether they allow the marriages to happen locally. they just have to be recognized as legally binding when they happen in Mexico City.)
did i explain that right? i’m kinda tired..
