Go Gaga!

I did not know this, but apparently Lady Gaga is the shit.  Seriously.  I just read an article about how she had a rally in Maine to support the repeal of discriminating “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” legislation.

I mean, she is still a crazy lady, but now I know she is also a kick-ass person.

Same Sex Marriage!

Rachel already posted the California decision to officially legalize same-sex marriage.  Be sure to read it if you haven’t already.  I thought I made the post when I heard the news from my phone.  I see I was mistaken.  LOL.  Technology.  😛

On to the point.  I’m so pleased that the ban on same sex marriage has been        overturned.  I don’t feel anyone should have say in who someone marries.  It’s usually those that force religion who feel it’s their “RIGHT” to have a say in what people do in their private lives.  How they raise their children and who they marry.

Oftentimes, when sucked into the conversation of same-sex marriage, someone always wants to say, “Well the Bible says….”  Well, I hate to break it to you, but the Bible is written by men.  Oftentimes based on he said, she said.  Men by nature are flawed.  They lie and sin.  Which also means, they exaggerate.

The Bible also says that men should lay with many wives, and that ear piercing and tattooing are signs of witchcraft (Leviticus 19:28 if you’re wondering).  And last I checked, witchcraft is far worse.  I mean, It’s blasphemy.  So…  yea, times change.  If you serve a God who would condemn people to a life of hell because of who they love, well, I feel sorry for you.  You have a lot to live up to.

Prop 8 is going down!

Wonderful news for open-minded persons of the United States:  the Californian gay marriage ban has been overturned by Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker.  The ban is still technically in effect, but it is much closer to extinction now.  Here is a link to an article about the situation.

I have to say, I have been smiling ever since I heard the news (and I have been at work the whole time, wow that’s a lot of smiling at work, quite rare).  I am very hopeful about our nation’s future now.  Maybe that is naive of me, but I can’t help it.  I just keep smiling   🙂
